Florida Power & Light wants to increase its base rate for medium and large businesses by 16 to 28 percent.
The utility provider reported that only about 1 percent of businesses would see the highest percentage increase and added that the rate hike would be offset by projected lower fuel costs.
A decision on the rate hike is expected by November from the Florida Public Service Commission.
